BMW M2 CS appears to be very fast at Nürburgring

Record

BMW M2 CS

The BMW M2 CS has only just been unveiled, but it turns out it was driven at breakneck speed over the Nürburgring-Nordschleife just before its unveiling. Record-breakingly fast, even.

With its impressive 530 hp 3.0 inline-six that drives the rear wheels, the recently unveiled BMW M2 CS is a wonderful fun machine. Not only that, it also turns out to be really seriously fast when you take it on the track. BMW now proudly announces that the M2 CS already set a record time on the Nordschleife about a month and a half before its unveiling.

No, this is of course not about the absolute record on the famous circuit, but about the record in the ‘compact cars’ category. With a length of around 4.6 meters, the BMW M2 CS is certainly not a small car, but small enough to fit into that category apparently. The lap time: 7:25.5, set by BMW M development driver Jörg Weidinger. For comparison: in 2008 a Ferrari Enzo clocked a similar time. In 2018 a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S was about as fast.
