Business action: Kia EV3 and Kia EV6 as GT-Line Business

Looks without the Liabilities

Business drivers want sporty looks but not the associated costs. At least, that’s what Kia seems to think, as the Kia EV3 and Kia EV6 offer exactly that as GT-Line Business Editions.

‘GT-Line’ primarily means sporty styling for the interior and exterior at Kia. Think of black headlining, sporty seats with nicer upholstery, larger wheels, and unique bumpers. In the case of the popular EV3, the high-gloss black wheel arch trims are also a clear distinguishing feature. A GT-Line is usually one of the top versions, although Kia still distinguishes between the regular GT-Line and the even more luxurious GT-Plusline for the EV3. For the EV6, a GT-Line is simply the most premium version and offers almost all available features as standard.

In both cases, you pay well for it. The EV3 with the large battery starts at €41,495, but a GT-Line costs at least €47,195. The EV6 with 84 kWh starts at €49,495, but a GT-Line costs €59,995. However, in the case of the Business Edition, the price tag looks very different. With the EV3, thanks to this promotional model, you can get into a car with GT-Line looks for €41,495, while the EV6 GT-Line Business Edition costs €51,995.

The EV3 as GT-Line Business is therefore exactly as expensive as the regular entry-level version Air. Apart from the GT-Line appearances, it is comparable in equipment to the Plus, which costs €43,195. The Kia EV3 GT-Line Business therefore has seat and steering wheel heating, highway assistance with adaptive cruise control, climate control with two zones, and a wireless phone charger, but is certainly not as luxurious as a ‘real’ GT-Line. On the outside, you can recognize the Business by its headlights and taillights, as this is the only GT-Line without the luxury full-LED variant thereof.

For the EV6, the difference in equipment between the GT-Line Business and the GT-Line seems smaller, although the real luxury of the latter is not included. So you don’t get a head-up display or rear seat heating, but you do get the most extensive matrix LED lighting, seat ventilation, extensive driving assistance, and an electric tailgate. So plenty of luxury, for an amount that is not much higher than the basic price of a similarly powered EV6.

The special editions of the Kia EV3 and EV6 are of course mainly aimed at business drivers, who thus benefit from extra favorable tax benefits. However, it is also possible for private individuals to order these versions.
