We are looking forward to it!

No less than 52 percent of the Dutch are sometimes confronted with car trouble during a holiday abroad. This is the conclusion of a study by parts supplier Winparts among 1,100 Dutch people. On vacation, the Dutch were most likely to get bad luck in Germany (in 27 percent of the cases) followed by France with 26 percent.
‘Bad luck’ can of course mean anything, and does not always have to be serious. More than half of the breakdown birds were back on their way within three hours, but on the other side of the spectrum there are also people who are delayed for days.
According to the WinParts study, 70 percent of the breakdown cases had to be called in. Waiting for that help also appears to be the greatest frustration among the respondents, followed by high costs and the language barrier. Interesting but logical: the people who have already had car trouble abroad in the past are better prepared for future journeys. According to Winparts, they take spare parts and/or tools with them in no less than 74 percent of the cases, while ‘only’ 60 percent of people without a bad luck experience do that.
