This Peugeot 304 Coupé is nice ‘Dans Son Jus’ – in the wild

Already 30 Years with the Same Owner

Peugeot 304 Coupé

Classic cars don’t have to be perfect to be cool. This Peugeot 304 Coupé proves that, still looking nicely original.

You can restore a car completely down to the last detail, but you can also aim to keep it in its original condition for as long as possible. The latter seems to be the case with this Peugeot 304 Coupé, which, as the French say, is ‘dans son jus’ (in its juice). We spot some subtle interferences from the rust ghost here and there, the paint is quite dull, and even the license plates look like they have been through a lot. They are probably the plates the car received new in 1973.

Whatever the history; we see a 304 Coupé that, despite its somewhat ‘rough’ condition here and there, still seems to have plenty of life in it. We also suspect that the owner secretly puts a lot of attention into keeping the Peugeot in good condition, because the two have been together since 1995! There must be an unbreakable bond between man and machine.

It is a charming appearance, such a Peugeot 304 Coupé, but with its seemingly slightly too short truncated rear (or is the nose just a bit too long?) it is certainly a somewhat remarkable car next to its big brother 504 Coupé. At the time, it was in any case a much more streamlined alternative to the somewhat stiffly lined 304 Sedan. If it had to be really flashy, you went for the Peugeot 304 Cabriolet. You see those more often nowadays as cherished classics than this two-door. So nice to see one again.
