Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid barely more expensive than Hybrid

One Hundred Euros

Kia Sportage

The updated Kia Sportage was already on the price list as a Hybrid; now the Plug-in Hybrid is joining the ranks. The additional cost is negligible.

Are you hesitating between a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version of the recently updated Kia Sportage? The price probably won’t help you make the choice. At least, not if you expected a clear difference between the two. The Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid is listed from €42,895, which is exactly one hundred euros more than the starting price of the Hybrid.

For that money, you get it as a ComfortLine, just like the Hybrid. The DynamicLine starts from €45,895, the DynamicPlusLine from €48,395, the GT-Line from €49,395, and the GT-PlusLine from €52,395. The choice is exactly the same as with the Hybrid, and here too, the prices are exactly one hundred euros higher.

The Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid has a 288 hp powertrain, making it 49 hp more powerful than the Hybrid. Kia has not yet announced the fully electric range; the previous one managed over 70 km. However, we do know that, unlike the Hybrid, it is also available with four-wheel drive. This adds an extra €2,400 to the price. The Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid can tow 1,360 kg, which is slightly less than the Hybrid (1,510 kg). Kia expects the updated Sportage Plug-in Hybrid in Dutch showrooms by mid-December.
