Peugeot 3008 P61 (2023-NU)

Peugeot E-3008 325 Dual Motor (2025) Exterior

For years, the Peugeot 3008 has been a staple in the SUV segment. With the arrival of the latest generation, including the all-electric e-3008, Peugeot is responding to the growing demand for modern, versatile, and above all, electric cars. In this review, you’ll discover what sets the new 3008 and e-3008 apart from the competition and whether they can convince as a family car or daily companion.

Is de Peugeot 3008 een goede keuze?

With the 3008 and e-3008, Peugeot presents a new generation of SUVs that combines modern technology with a striking design. You can choose from various powertrains, including hybrid and fully electric. Peugeot is increasingly focusing on electric cars, which we see in the e-3008.

The electric e-3008 stands on a new platform, and the basic model theoretically achieves up to 525 kilometers on a full 73 kWh battery. In 2025, there will even be an even stronger version with a larger battery (98 kWh), with which you can theoretically travel 700 kilometers. There will also be an all-wheel-drive Dual Motor variant with 325 hp, which is extra powerful and offers a lot of grip, especially in corners. However, this version compromises on luggage space: 470 liters instead of 520. Yet, comfort remains good on long journeys, although the steering sometimes feels less direct.

In terms of appearance, the new 3008 stands out as an SUV with a sporty roofline. The design may resemble the Renault Scenic E-Tech somewhat, but Peugeot emphasizes its own features such as the i-Cockpit and striking vertical LED lighting. Inside, the 3008 stands out with beautiful materials and an atmospheric interior. The curved digital screen is an eye-catcher that brings together various functions. In the GT version, the screen is even behind a glass plate. Some users regret that important functions are behind complicated menus in the touchscreen.

The 3008 is practical, with features such as keyless entry and two-zone climate control. The basic version lacks luxuries such as seat heating and navigation, but you can order them separately. The electric models do not have a frunk (front storage space), which can be a pity if you like to take extra items with you. The rear seat is not very spacious, especially for taller people – making the car less suitable for larger families.

Our tests show that the e-3008, especially with all-wheel drive, performs well. However, there are strong competitors, such as the Tesla Model Y and Volvo EC40, which outperform the Peugeot on some points such as space and range. If you pay attention to the price, the Renault Scenic E-Tech is also an interesting option: it has a spacious range and comparable luxury.

Performance

In terms of performance, the Peugeot 3008 offers a choice of different powertrains. There are mild hybrid variants with a 1.2-engine that delivers 136 hp or 145 hp. There is also a plug-in hybrid with 195 hp. The advantage of the plug-in hybrid is that it has a battery pack that you can charge with a plug, allowing you to cover parts of your route fully electrically. More explanation about the different types of hybrid powertrains can be found here.

For those who want to drive fully electric, there is the e-3008. The entry-level model has a 73-kWh battery, delivers 210 hp via the front wheels, and has a theoretical range of 526 kilometers. There is also a more powerful e-3008 with a 96-kWh battery, good for 230 hp and a range of 701 kilometers according to the factory specification. Later, there will be a version with four-wheel drive, which gets an extra electric motor on the rear axle and thus offers a system power of 325 hp.

Space and practical usability

Depending on the chosen powertrain, the luggage space varies: in the versions with front-wheel drive, 520 liters are available, while the four-wheel-drive variant comes to 470 liters due to the extra electric motor. This means there is enough space for groceries, suitcases, or a stroller. A storage compartment at the front (frunk) is missing in the electric models, which can be a pity if you are looking for extra storage space.

In the back, the space is sufficient for children and smaller adults. However, taller passengers will experience less legroom, making the 3008 less suitable for large families or five adults. At the front, you enjoy handy storage compartments and logical operation, which contribute to the user-friendliness.

Reliability and problems

With its modern technology and digital gadgets, the Peugeot 3008 offers a lot of user convenience, but in practice, users report a number of points of attention. For example, it happens that the digital screens, such as the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, do not always respond immediately or sometimes do not start at all. This can be a nuisance while driving, especially because many functions are done via these screens.

Also, the MyPeugeot app, with which you can remotely view information about the car or operate certain functions, does not always work smoothly: users regularly experience connection problems or notice that not all functions are available in the app.
