The Opel Frontera Electric gets a significantly larger range for a relatively small additional cost. Introducing the Opel Frontera Electric Extended Range.
Frontera Electric is the name Opel gives to the fully electric versions of the Frontera, which is also available with 110 hp and 145 hp mild-hybrid petrol engines. Until now, the Frontera Electric always had a 44 kWh battery that enabled a range of up to 305 kilometers. For those for whom that is not sufficient, there is now the Frontera Electric Extended Range.
Like the existing variant, this model has a 113 hp electric motor, but combines it with a 54 kWh battery. That larger pack gives the electric Frontera a range of up to 408 kilometers. The electric range is therefore a good 33 percent higher with this variant, while the price is certainly not a higher percentage. The Opel Frontera Electric Extended Range costs €32,499, which is only €2,500 more expensive than the version with a 44 kWh battery. All Frontera Electrics can be fast charged with 100 kW.
The starting price of €32,499 applies to the Edition version. Like the Frontera Electric with a 44 kWh battery, the Frontera Electric Extended Range is also available as the more richly decorated GS. That costs €35,499.
Sister model Citroën ë-C3 Aircross was recently also equipped with a variant with a larger range.
