Dacia Duster and Bigster as a hybrid that LPG likes and with four -wheel drive

The best of both worlds?

Dacia introduces a new type of powertrain in the Duster and in his big brother: De Bigster. The Dacia Duster and Bigster are now also available as a four -wheel driven hybrid with a gasoline engine that also likes LPG. Special. But there is more. The Duster gets even more new machines!

Both the Dacia Duster and Bigster were already there as a hybrid and were also on the menu with a combustion engine that lusts LPG in addition to gasoline. In the case of the Bigster, that was also a mild-hybrid power source. Now the Romanians go one step further. They combine a mild hybrid combustion engine that can now handle LPG and gasoline with four-wheel drive.

Enough about what was already there. The new powertrain is called Hybrid-G 150 4×4 and has a 140 hp mild hybrid 1.2 petrol engine that is supported by a 31 hp electric motor on the rear axle. The drive of the rear wheels is therefore electric and is therefore different from the existing 4×4 versions. The system power: 154 hp. The combustion engine is tied to a dual clutch automatic transmission. The electric motor, in turn, is linked to the rear axle by means of a two -stage transmission, although that connection is not permanent. In the first gear, the electric motor supplies a high torque at low speeds, at higher speeds the second gear is used. The Bigster and Duster with the new powertrain can also be driven as a front -wheel drive. That saves again. Also interesting: the six -speed automatic transmission can be operated behind the steering wheel through shifts, among other things. A first for Dacia. With 0.84 kWh, the battery is of course relatively small, although Dacia says that you can cover up to 60 percent of the city kilometers fully electrically. In addition to a petrol tank, there are two LPG tanks, each with a capacity of 50 liters. The total driving range is therefore a spacious 1,500 kilometers.

We do not yet have prices of the Dacia Duster and Bigster with this new powertrain. Dacia will open the order books at the end of this year.
