Production version on patent image?
Every now and then futuristic study models are almost unchanged in production. The Renault Emblème seems to be one!
In October last year, Renault managed to attract a lot of attention with the Emblème both online and on the Paris exhibition floor. The Renault Emblème is what the French themselves call a ‘demo car’. In short: a study model that acts as a sign of Renault’s vision and future. In that future, Renault wants to build a large part of his models from recycled materials. Furthermore, the Emblème reflects Renault’s vision of future design. We see nothing of that in the new Clio, but it is certainly not unthinkable that you will soon see influences of the Renault Emblème on production models in the future. In fact, the Renault Emblème may go into production itself. And almost unchanged too.
Renault Embleme: Would this be the production version?
In the database of an international patent agency, AutoWeek has found two interesting sets of patent drawings of the Renault Emblème. They were both submitted in September last year. Interesting here that the emblème has less wide wheel arches on one of the set of drawings than on the other. The variant with wider wheel arches and larger track width on both front and back (photos 14 to 19) seems to be more corresponding to the study model. The narrower variant (photos 5 to 13) could be the production version of that.
That slightly narrower Renault Emblème is particularly very similar to the wider version and therefore on the concept car. There are more differences. Take a look at the reflectors in the rear bumper. In the according to our speculation production version, they are just as wide than those of the Emblème Concept Car.
The Renault Emblème of October last year was 4.8 meters long, has a wheelbase of 2.9 meters and was equipped with an interesting powertrain. The show car had a 40 kWh NMC battery, a fuel cell and a 218 hp electric motor on board.

The Slightly Narrower Renault Emblème Mainly Looks Very Similar to the Wider Version and Therefore to the Concept Car. There are more differentences. Just Look at the Reflectors in the Rear Bumper. In The Production Version, Accordance to Our Speculation, they are just a little less wide than Those of the Emblème Concept Car.
