Small bright spot for Nissan, but European sales remain bad

Nissan is in the middle of a major restructuring plan. Several Factories are Being Closed and Huge Savings are needed to get the finances back on track. In The Meantime, Sales Are Not Going Well, Especialy in Europe.

Althegh Nissan Gave Both the Micra and Leaf a Completely New Generation in A Short Time, Things Have Not Been Going So Well Behind The Scenes For Some Time. Nissan is Busy Closing Factories, Laying Off Employees and Tryping to Streamline Various Processes to Get The Financial Picture Right Again. In the first six months of this year, it sold 5.7 percent feer cars than in the same period last year. Yet there is a small plus.

For Example, Nissan Sold 0.5 percent more cars worldwide in July than in the Same Month Last Year. In August, the result was just better. Nissan Sold 251,081 Cars Worldwide in August. That was 2.8 percent more than in August last year. So there seems to be some growth again, but not everywhere. The Sales Decline in Europe Has Only Intensified. In June and July, Nissan Saw Its Sales in Europe Fall by 7.6 and 9.1 Percent respectively compared to the Same Months Last Year. In August, Nissan Sold no less than 13.6 percent Fewer Cars in Europe than in August Last Year. In Total, This Conerns 14,698 Cars.

In North America (USA, Canada and Mexico), Nissan Sold 113,499 Cars in August, Almost 11 percent more than in the Same Month Last year. In China, Sales equally increased by 19.4 percent (58.756 Cars). In Homeland Japan, there was again a significant dip. There, Nissan Sold 22.2 percent Fewer Cars in August (25,347 units) than in August Last Year.
