The BYD Atto 3 is undergoing a significant power boost. The compact electric SUV is gaining 109 hp, making it about one and a half times more powerful than before.
The drive systems of the Dacia Spring were recently made 55 percent more powerful than they were, and the Toyota Aygo Something similar is now happening with the BYD Atto 3, although this compact electric SUV is getting a more powerful drive system rather than all versions becoming more potent. The power increase is substantial!
In the Netherlands, the BYD Atto 3 has always had 204 hp. In China, BYD is adding a new variant to the delivery range that offers an additional 109 hp, as revealed by browsing through the digital database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This extra powerful BYD Atto 3 – called Yuan Plus in China – delivers 313 hp, making it about one and a half times more powerful than the original. The top speed is 180 km/h, which is 20 km/h higher than the less endowed versions. How quickly the new variant of the BYD Atto 3 accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h is still unknown.
So far, BYD has not officially presented the more powerful Atto 3. Whether and when this variant will come our way is still unknown. While we’re on the subject of the Atto 3: the model was facelifted some time ago in China. That updated variant has still not appeared in the Netherlands.
