Maserati Grecale Folgore

The electric Maserati Grecale Folgore has suddenly gained 80 kilometers more driving range thanks to a clever trick. The gimmick is smart, but the concept has long been applied by other manufacturers.

The Maserati Grecale comes with gasoline engines and is also available as the electric Folgore in the showroom. It is this electric Maserati Grecale Folgore that has been technically refined. As before, the car has two electric motors that together deliver up to 550 hp, and the battery, at 105 kWh, is no larger than before. Nevertheless, the SUV now has a greater range.

The Grecale Folgore for the 2026 model year is equipped with what Maserati calls the AWD-Disconnect system. The name is counting. It is a system that shuts down and completely disconnects the electric motor on the front axle when its power or traction is not needed. This does a lot for the range. It increases from 501 to 580 kilometers. That’s a gain of over 15 percent. The driver doesn’t have to do anything for this. Another novelty for the Maserati relates to the infotainment system. The Grecale now displays on a map the maximum distance that can be driven based on the battery status and driving conditions. The Italians also offer six new paint colors and various new colors for finishing elements such as the interior and brake calipers.

The price of the upgraded Maserati Grecale Folgore is not yet known. Up until now, the electric SUV was listed at €110,650 in the order books. The Grecale is also available as a 240 hp ‘base version’ with a four-cylinder gasoline engine, as a 330 hp Grecale Modena with a 330 hp four-cylinder, and as a 530 hp Grecale Trofeo with a 3.0 V6.
