Opel Astra gets quite a different nose

Behind the Experimental Concept

Opel Astra teasers

The Peugeot 308 and DS 4 (now Numéro 4) have already been facelifted, so the Opel Astra can’t be far behind. It’s clear where it gets its inspiration for the refresh.

Unlike its French cousins, the Opel Astra has not yet been facelifted, but it won’t be long before white smoke is seen in Rüsselsheim as well. Opel is now sharing three teaser photos in which we can admire the renewed Astra a little bit in advance. Fortunately, the brand immediately shows the most striking renewal in broad terms: we find it in the front of the Astra.

Although Opel is keeping things a bit vague, it is clear that the nose is going to be worked on considerably. Like the much fresher Grandland, the Astra will from now on have headlights that are not quite connected to each other with a strip of LED lighting in the middle. But there is an even newer design element, because the Astra will also be the first production Opel to have a vertical LED strip in the middle. We saw that element on the Experimental Concept from 2023 and we also expected it on the Opel Manta, for example. The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo from last summer also had that. The Astra’s Vizor grille, the black surface in which the headlights and logo are located, will also be slightly slimmer in shape. All in all, the Astra should look a bit more aggressive as a result, it seems.

We see less drastic changes in the other two teaser images. We are presented with a new wheel design and can also take a look at the rear of the renewed Astra. It remains the same. Maybe we will see the Opel Astra in its facelifted form entirely this year.
