Ford Ranger will get a big diesel engine in the Netherlands

Ford Ranger

The end for the diesel engine? Certainly not. Ford is simply bringing a hefty six-cylinder diesel engine to the Ranger.

The Ford Ranger is currently only available as a 279 hp plug-in hybrid and as a wild Raptor with a powerful 292 hp 3.0 Ecoboost V6 petrol engine. Next year, a third option will be added: a diesel engine. And not just anyone.

The range will be expanded in the spring of 2026 with a 3.0 EcoBlue V6 diesel engine. It delivers 240 hp and a more than generous 600 Nm of torque. Like all other versions of the Ranger, shifting gears is done with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Prices are not yet available.

More Ranger news is narrower in nature. The Ranger PHEV in Wildtrak version will optionally be available with Ford’s BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system. You may already know BlueCruise from the Mustang Mach-E and Kuga PHEV. Furthermore, Ford is introducing things like new wheels, colors, and finishing options for various versions, and the infotainment system with a 12-inch display is now part of the standard equipment.
