Lynk & Co stops subscriptions: return cars next year

Monthly payments are over

Lynk & Co 01

Lynk & Co is ready for a new chapter. There is no more room for subscriptions in it. Those will therefore disappear. That means that anyone who drives their Lynk & Co 01 on a subscription basis will soon be able to return their car.

Lynk & Co says it is looking back on a successful year in which it has expanded its portfolio with many new points of sale. Since 2024, the brand has gone from eleven ‘clubs’ to 125 official points of sale. Lynk & Co also says it wants to grow in 2026. The retail model must be strengthened and there is no room for subscriptions to a Lynk & Co in it. This has major consequences for those who now drive a Lynk & Co on a subscription basis.

The Lynk & Co 01 was the only Lynk & Co that could be driven on a subscription basis. The electric 02 and the even younger plug-in hybrid Lynk & Co 08 were never designated according to the subscription model. With good reason. Lynk & Co is pulling the plug. According to them, this will happen gradually.

Lynk & Co will terminate all its subscription contracts in the first half of 2026. Anyone with a subscription will, according to Lynk & Co, receive a message at least three months before you have to return the 01. Anyone who does not return the 01 will of course have a collection agency after them. It is possible for subscribers to buy the car or to request financing for it. Anyone who has indicated an interest in buying the car will receive a purchase agreement from Lynk & Co with the exact purchase price for the car.

Since 2021, almost 19,000 Lynk & Co’s 01 have been registered in the Netherlands. It is not known what part of that is or was driven on a subscription basis. The monthly cancelable subscription costs €500 per month. For that amount you got a 01 in front of the door with which you were allowed to drive 1,250 kilometers per month (15.00 kilometers per year).

There is also positive news: Lynk & Co says it will stick to the possibility of ‘sharing’ your Lynk & Co with others via an app and promises that it will present at least one new or updated model every year in the coming years.
