From Kicks to Kait

Nissan presents a brand new compact crossover; the Kait. The Nissan Kait does not yet seem to be coming to our neighborhood, although the basis is familiar to us.
In Brazil, the cover has come off the Nissan Kait. A compact crossover that is sold alongside the Nissan Kicks. We (and Nissan itself, for that matter) call that Kicks for a reason, because the Kait is a sibling of it. The wheelbase is almost the same, only the Nissan Kait is 7 cm shorter than the Kicks with its 4.30 meter length. That already indicates that the Kait is a little lower in the market and the appearance is also a bit less flashy. Incidentally, we see some Renault influences in the lighting, but that is purely coincidental in this case.

The brother of the Kait, the Nissan Kicks
We don’t get to see much of the Kait yet and Nissan is also not very forthcoming with technical information. Photos of the interior are not yet available at the time of writing. However, we do know that it has a 432 liter luggage space and, logically, the Nissan Kait, like the Nissan Kicks, has a blown 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine in its nose. We know that power source here, for example, from the outgoing Renault Clio, which stands on the same platform.
For the time being, the Nissan Kait seems to be intended only for markets far away from here (South America, India). Here in Europe, the Kait and the Kicks would probably be too close to the Juke, so it is not very likely that they will come here in the long run. Perhaps at most the Kicks will ever make the crossing again as a budget model next to the Juke, although there are no concrete indications for this yet.
