Remarkably Low Mileage

Cheap and reliable, two core values of the Suzuki Swift. This offered Suzuki Swift 1.3 GS proves that these values are not inherently linked to a lack of driving experience.

Recently, Suzuki proudly announced that it had sold 10 million Swifts worldwide, but this one from 1990 is not included. Outside of Europe, the hatchback had different names, such as Cultus, Forsa, or Khyber. The manufacturer started counting when the third generation Swift came out in 2004.

Here we are dealing with a Suzuki Swift of the second generation. And not just any one, this one carries the GS label. That stands for Grand Sport and means that this Suzuki looks a bit faster than the basic version. Unfortunately, the sportiest engines are reserved for the Swift GTI, so the Swift GS has to make do with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder. 67 hp goes to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. That doesn’t make this Swift super fast, but certainly not a slow car either. After all, it only weighs 735 kg. That low weight also contributes to the driving pleasure.

The odometer of the Japanese car indicates a remarkably low mileage: 21,268 km. Now, the odometer only consists of five digits, so there is a chance that an extra 100,000 km has already been driven. If that’s the case, you can’t tell. The interior looks impeccable. Perhaps the sports seats, which feature a (then) hip print, are not to everyone’s taste, but otherwise there is nothing to criticize. The Swift also seems to be in competition condition on the outside. Its previous German owner took good care of it.

The car comes from abroad and will have to be provided with a Dutch license plate. A small hassle, but the provider says this can be arranged at no extra cost. For €2,999 you have a car that you can use for years to come.
