Multivan Streamlined

The Volkswagen Multivan is large, spacious, and exceptionally practical. The current Volkswagen Multivan is also almost five years old, and so Volkswagen is working hard behind the scenes on a refreshed version.
The Volkswagen Multivan is a special model. In the past, ‘Multivan’ was inextricably linked to the Transporter. About five years ago, Volkswagen decided to separate the Transporter and Multivan. The new Transporter went its own way and became a Volkswagen cousin of the Ford Transit Custom, while the Multivan was presented as a standalone model. Unlike the Transporter, the Multivan is not built on a Ford platform, but on Volkswagen’s own MQB platform. The Volkswagen Multivan T7 therefore shares no bolt or cable with the model it broke away from. The Multivan has always been a passenger car and is exceptionally practical. It has been for five years now, and so a refresh awaits it.
In a set of photos, the refreshed Volkswagen Multivan is already quite visible. Those who glance quickly will probably see no difference from the original. But they are really there. Volkswagen has applied stickers that make it look as if the Multivan in these photos has the familiar headlights, but new ones are underneath. Their contours are already visible through the stickers. The strip between the headlights is also ‘fake’.

The shape of the new and apparently larger headlights is already visible.
On the technical front, we expect only minor changes. The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the Volkswagen Multivan was already improved not long ago. Volkswagen might fine-tune things further to – with Euro 7 in prospect – reduce CO2 emissions by a few more grams.
