We have already told you almost everything about that improved S-Class. In this article, we focus on the new Guard variant. It is fully named Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard 4Matic. The S680 part of the name is important because it points to its unique gasoline engine.
Until the possible arrival of the Maybach version with a V12, this Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard 4Matic is the only S-Class with a 6.0 V12. This twelve-cylinder engine has two turbos and produces 612 hp and 830 Nm. You need that power too. Mercedes-Benz does not say how heavy the S680 Guard 4Matic is, but rest assured that the amount of extras, and especially the type of additions, makes it extremely heavy.

The Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard 4Matic is the only top limousine in the world that offers VR10 bulletproof protection ex works. Not only for the glass, but also for all body panels. This VR10 certification means, among other things, that high-caliber bullets cannot penetrate the glass or bodywork. The Guard variant includes an automatic fire extinguisher on board that can extinguish fires under the car and under the hood. The S680 Guard 4Matic also has an emergency fresh air supply system and is equipped with an extensive warning system and a communication system to communicate with people outside the car. To be able to close the heavy doors, the rolling safe has been given power closing. They can be opened or closed at the touch of a button.
The top speed of the Guard version is limited to 210 km/h. Things like the transmission and suspension have been adapted. Despite these adjustments, Mercedes-Benz guarantees that the S680 Guard 4Matic offers the same driving behavior and comfort as a regular S-Class.
