GX

Xpeng would very much like a Range Rover in its lineup. Since Land Rover already has the Range Rover, it is bringing out an SUV that strongly resembles that English giant.
Xpeng recently released the first images of the GX, a brand-new SUV about which the brand had not yet shared any information. AutoWeek has unearthed new photos and the first specifications of the Xpeng GX from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Xpeng GX comes with two types of powertrains, is always electrically powered, and is also always extremely heavy.
The Xpeng GX is 5.27 meters long, two meters wide, and 1.8 meters high. Between the front and rear axles, there is a generous 3.12 meters. This makes the GX not only longer than a Range Rover but even longer than a Range Rover LWB, although that Brit does have a longer wheelbase (3.2 meters). The silver-grey GX in these photos has an electric drivetrain. Depending on the variant, it weighs between 2,690 and 2,820 kilograms. Among other things, there will be a 367 hp rear-wheel-drive variant and an all-wheel-drive version. The latter has, in addition to the 367 hp electric motor at the rear, a 217 hp electric motor that powers the front wheels.
The blue-grey model we also see here is registered as a plug-in hybrid. Nevertheless, it is always electrically powered. The petrol engine – a 150 hp 1.5 – serves purely as a generator for the (smaller) battery. We do not yet know the size of that battery. The plug-in hybrid Xpeng GX is certainly not a lightweight either. It weighs a staggering 2,890 kilograms. That is even more than a Range Rover P460e LWB (2,810 kilograms). The fuel filler cap for this variant is located on the right rear fender.
It is not yet known whether the Xpeng GX will also come to the Netherlands.
