The new Peugeot 408 is thousands of euros cheaper as an EV and as a plug-in

A Welcome Bonus

The renewed Peugeot 408 is heading to the Netherlands. It arrives with interesting new prices in showrooms. The plug-in hybrid and electric Peugeot 408 are thousands of euros cheaper than they used to be.

Earlier this year, Peugeot unveiled the facelifted 408 at the Brussels Motor Show. The renewed Peugeot 408 followed in the footsteps of the previously refreshed 308 and returned from a session on the French operating tables with a new front and a subtly sharpened rear. For the renewed Peugeot 408, you pay significantly less than for the pre-facelift model. At least, if you opt for the electric or plug-in hybrid 408.

The 145 hp mild-hybrid Peugeot 408 starts from €39,990, making it €1,660 cheaper than before. The electric Peugeot e-408 will now cost you €40,990, whereas previously you would have paid at least €42,980. Almost €2,000 in savings. The real bargain is the plug-in hybrid 408. With its new starting price of €41,990, it has become a whopping €4,360 cheaper.

During the refresh of the 408, Peugeot also revised the powertrains. The electric Peugeot e-408 gained 3 hp and 3 kilometers of range, bringing it to 213 hp and 456 kilometers of range. The plug-in hybrid 408 also gained power. It is now 240 hp instead of 225 hp. The mild-hybrid version remains unchanged and is still 145 hp.
