Filosa to pull Stellantis out of the slump
Stellantis has found a successor for CEO Carlos Tavares, who stepped down last year. The new CEO is a familiar face: Antonio Filosa.
On December 1st last year, Stellantis announced that Carlos Tavares was no longer at the helm of the gigantic concern, effective immediately. After ‘disagreements’ between Tavares and the Board of Directors, Tavares and Stellantis reportedly agreed to terminate the marriage. Now – half a year later – Stellantis has found a new CEO.
The new CEO of Stellantis is named Antonio Filosa. He is no stranger, as he was recently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of both the North and South American divisions of Stellantis. Filosa was also Chief Quality Officer and CEO of Jeep. Filosa will have to wait about three weeks before he can pull the strings. He will take office as CEO on June 23rd.
Industry veteran Filosa has, among other things, the tough task of pulling Stellantis’ slumping sales out of the slump. Filosa is also joining in an uncertain period for the industry, partly due to import duties and the fluctuating EV market.
