Earlier this year, MG suddenly conjured up a brand new 4 Electric. This new MG 4 Electric has so far only been presented for the Chinese home market, but it will also come our way.
How do we know that? Well. In the database of the European patent office, parent company SAIC Motor has recorded the design of the new MG 4 Electric. That is of course not just anything. The first generation MG 4 Electric is still being delivered in Europe and undoubtedly that brand new one will also come our way. The current model will certainly not remain in production in Chinese Ningde for long.
For those who missed it: the MG 4 Electric was introduced to the Chinese home market in mid-2022 and was introduced on the Dutch market a few months later. The model is only three years old, but apparently parent company SAIC Motors thinks it has been enough for the model overloaded with angular lines and folds. Earlier this year, MG suddenly presented a completely new MG 4 Electric. The new MG 4 Electric has a significantly rounder design and its new lines fit much better with more recent models such as the MG 3 Hybrid+, MG ZS Hybrid+, HS and S5 EV.
The new new MG 4 Electric, with its length of 4.4 meters, is a not insignificant 11 centimeters longer than its predecessor. The wheelbase has also increased by 4 centimeters to 2.75 meters. All this probably means a lot of good for the interior space. We already know that the MG 4 Electric weighs at least 1,485 kilos and – at least in China – is available with a 163 hp electric motor. Undoubtedly more engine variants will come. For example, the outgoing MG 4 Electric is also available with various powertrains.
