Denza Z: Supercar from BYD comes here to hunt Porsches

Why not

Denza Z Concept

Chinese BYD has an insatiable appetite for market share. Just in the corner of electric supercars, it is active. And significantly so. It appears to be hunting in Europe with an electric super coupe as well.

BYD is the largest car manufacturer in its home country China and wants nothing more than to be the same in Europe. It sells its automotive goods under various brand names. Besides the BYD car brand, Denza, Yangwang, and Fangchengbao are also brands of the Chinese giant. Yangwang already has an electric supercar in the form of the powerful U9, and BYD’s brand Denza is also getting one. In these spy photos, that electric super exotic from Denza can be seen in Europe in test camouflage. And that’s certainly not for no reason.

The Denza Z undoubtedly has a powerful chunk of electric power.

The electric powerhouse in these photos is clearly the production version of the Denza Z presented earlier this year in China. That was officially still a study model, but it appears to be going into production in virtually unchanged form. How powerful the Denza Z will be, we don’t know yet. The device could, of course, get the drivetrain of the aforementioned Yangwang U9. It is also not unthinkable that the Denza Z will get hardware that is also available in the electric variants of the Z9 and Z9 GT. This would mean that the Denza Z gets 965 electric horses. With this, the Z9s are capable of reaching a speed of 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds. The Denza Z, with its smaller size and thus lower weight and better aerodynamics, will undoubtedly be even quicker.

The conceptual Denza Z made extensive use of carbon fiber. The precursor also had a retractable steering wheel because you should be able to cover your kilometers autonomously with it as well. What remains of all that remains to be seen.
