Electric Porsche 993 makes both sad and happy

If you do it, do it like that

The 993 generation of the Porsche 911 is the last air-cooled and is still seen by many as the ultimate 911. Yet the English Everrati dares to replace the boxer engine with an electric motor, and that makes us both sad and happy.

You actually just have to stay away from about 993. The 1994 model is now more than old enough to save neatly for posterity and, moreover, there are currently so many companies in this world that like to make a ‘Restomod’ on the basis of early 911s, that there will soon be no 964 or 993 left that has not yet been adapted to modern times with often discutable and far from timeless additions.

Everrati also makes that conceivable in the rigorous way and gets the entire original powertrain from the Porsche without mercy. Instead, a 63-KWh battery pack and a 760 hp electric motor are placed in the Porsche, good for a 0-100 sprint of about 3.5 seconds and a 320-kilometer driving range. Fast loading then goes with a nicest 100 kW.

All great performance for such a toy, but at the same time we can imagine that you are now crying in a corner. Then comfort yourself with the thought that Everrati is not at least too least player. The company shows in everything to tackle his affairs very seriously and makes us happy with slick brochures, thoughtful solutions and a renovation that should also be completely reversed.

That gives some confidence in the claim of Everrati that the weight distribution and the driving characteristics have been considered for a long and good thought. Also, the electric 911 would not be much heavier than the original and that immense amount of power is fired on the rear wheels via a sparing differential developed by Everrati itself.

Of course, the electric 993 on the outside is also slightly different. The spilling is similar to that of a 993 turbo (s), but is supplemented with unique colors and wheels and modernized light units. The decoration is of course entirely up to the customer and the first 9 buyers get an even more special ‘Founders Edition’.

For Everrati, this was not a big job during Monterey Car Week, because the company had already electrified the predecessor of the 993, the highly similar 964. Everrati also has electric versions of the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz SL ‘Pagoda’ and Ford GT40 in the offer. They dare, there in Upper Heyford.
