Which EV can you load with a forklift? The Volkswagen e-Transporter! The electric Transporter is now also available with an open cargo bed and double cab, good for six people and plenty of stuff.
The pick-up version of the new Transporter is currently only available as an e-Transporter and with a double cab. According to Volkswagen, this makes it the only electric pick-up with a double cab in the mid-segment, and although that is a lot of variables, it is still remarkable. After all, the current Transporter is the sister model of the Ford Transit Custom, but such a pick-up is indeed not yet available from Ford. Ford does offer an electric pick-up based on the larger and unrelated regular Transit, but it only has two doors and rows of seats.
The Volkswagen e-Transporter Pick-up has a separate cargo bed that is large enough for two Euro pallets, but also a full double cab with two rows of seats and six seats. The electric motor is optionally 136, 218 or 286 hp strong. Volkswagen does not yet provide an official range, but know that the e-Transporter as a closed van can travel approximately 320 to a maximum of 330 kilometers on its 64 kWh. In terms of equipment, Volkswagen only mentions one version, although all kinds of options will be available. The Volkswagen e-Transporter pick-up is available from €50,490, while the versions with more power cost €52,390 and €55,190 respectively.
