Long Awaited
The die is finally cast. Genesis – Hyundai’s luxury brand – will launch its attack on the Dutch car market at the beginning of next year.
Genesis – Hyundai’s luxury brand – has been claiming for years that it wants to expand its European presence. The brand is already active in Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, but in the Netherlands you still cannot buy the brand’s cars. This will change at the beginning of next year.
Genesis finally confirms that it is coming our way. It will also be active in the Netherlands from the beginning of 2026. The Netherlands is not the only country where Genesis is spreading its wings. It is also bringing its automotive goods to France, Italy and Spain.
What goods are those? Here we go. Genesis will at least bring the fully electric GV60 – a compact crossover – to our side. You can read more about the Genesis GV60 here. But it doesn’t stop there. The fully electric ‘Electrified’ versions of the GV70 and G80 are also coming our way. You should see the Genesis GV70 as an electric competitor for cars such as the BMW iX3 and successor to the Mercedes-Benz GLC. The Genesis G80 is the only non-high-legged one of the bunch. That is an electric sedan with a fairly strong sloping roofline. With that car, Genesis is aiming at electric business sedans such as the Audi A6 e-tron, BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE.
So there are also many models that have not yet been announced for our market. We mention the G90, GV80, GV80 Coupe, G70, G70 Shooting Brake.
How the sales model will look like in the Netherlands exactly will be announced later.
