Experiencing Chinese Adventures

Car manufacturers have a tendency to increase the height of all SUVs and crossovers. Some brands go even further. Kia, for example, with this EV5 Weekender.
Kia has gone big in China for the Guangzhou Auto Show 2025 and raised the EV5. To be able to handle inhospitable terrain, off-road tires have been mounted under extra wide wheel arches and the bumpers have been made thicker so that it can take a beating.
In the interior, in which Kia apparently used (natural) materials such as cork, the fresh green color is striking. Compared to the normal EV5, where the multimedia and driver information are located as two screens in one panel, the entire dashboard in the EV5 Weekender is different. While the passenger has a large screen in front of him, the driver has to make do with only a small screen on which only the most necessary information such as the range and speed is visible. In addition, the many practical storage options in the trunk are noticeable. Dimensions and specifications are not available. It is also not known whether this EV5 Weekender will ever go into production. We’re betting it will stay with this show car.
