Leapmotor C10: much stronger and greater range for a small additional cost

Two new variants with larger battery

Leapmotor C10 AWD

The delivery range of the Leapmotor C10 now looks very different. There is a new all-wheel-drive electric variant with beastly power and a much larger battery. This larger battery is also available for a new rear-wheel-drive variant. This is immediately the version with the longest range.

The Leapmotor C10 was previously available with two types of powertrains. The electric variant always had a 69.9-kWh battery and a 217 hp electric motor, good for a range of 420 kilometers. Additionally, Leapmotor offered a variant with a smaller battery and a gasoline engine that functions as a range extender : the C10 REEV. That costs exactly the same as the electric versions with the 69.9-kWh battery. We’ve already written twice about the arrival of an all-wheel-drive electric version with nearly 600 hp and a larger battery. AutoWeek can tell you the price of that variant. Also interesting: the larger battery in that version can also be combined with a new rear-wheel-drive variant! So two new interesting versions. Let’s get to them.

The Leapmotor C10 with the new large 81.9-kWh battery is designated by the manufacturer as the ProMax. The C10 with the ‘small’ 69.9-kWh battery from the existing electric versions is now listed as Pro. The Leapmotor C10 ProMax – so with the large battery – is now available as a 598 hp and 720 Nm strong variant with all-wheel drive. That means it has a whopping 380 hp more than the electric C10 as you’ve known it until now. That Leapmotor C10 ProMax AWD costs €45,050, making it ‘only’ 5 grand more expensive. With its high power, the 2,164 kg heavy C10 ProMax AWD accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. Its top speed: 190 km/h. The range is 437 kilometers and is not particularly impressive for an SUV with such a substantial battery.

Also RWD with new large battery

For those for whom that range is not sufficient, there is good news. The new 81.9-kWh battery can also be combined with a new rear-wheel-drive variant. A second one, then. This one has 299 hp and 360 Nm and is good for a range of 510 kilometers. Fast charging is possible at 180 kW. Significantly faster than the C10 with the smaller battery, which maxed out at 84 kW. This second new variant costs €42,550 as its starting price, only €2,000 more than the 218 hp strong C10 with the smaller battery. Regardless of the chosen variant, the Leapmotor C10 is allowed to tow up to 1,500 kg.
