With or without range extender
The Chinese Leapmotor is currently seeking its fortune in Europe in the much-for-little corner, but is now presenting an impressive top model in China. This is the Leapmotor D19, an electric SUV with or without a ‘range extender’.
The Leapmotor D19 is the top model of Leapmotor, which in its home country China has nothing to do with Stellantis. The new SUV visually resembles the B10, which is available here, and has a lidar on the roof and a continuous light bar at the rear that can ‘communicate’ by displaying various data and animations. We also want to shamelessly and subjectively praise the wheels, because these largely closed and polished examples look beautiful in our opinion. Compared to many other Leapmotors, the D19 is cleaner, more linear and more distinguished. And larger, of course.

For example, we learn that the car is about 5.20 meters long, making it even larger than a Volvo EX90. There is an electric variant with a 115 kWh battery and a version with a range extender. A gasoline engine that can charge the battery when necessary, although with still 80.3 kWh, this is only needed after hundreds of kilometers. Will we be able to experience this car in the Netherlands? That chance seems as small as the D19 is large.
