Lexus celebrates 35 years in the Netherlands, and that deserves a celebration. The driving forces behind the party are the Lexus UX, the NX, and the ES. They are now available as a 35th Edition for a limited time.
Lexus is a brand with multiple facets. On one hand, it has a rugged side, a side that brought forth cars like the LFA and the hard-hitting F versions of the IS, GS, and RC. On the other hand, there’s a modest, more understated side that was not only expressed in the first generation LS but also in the car with which it introduced itself to the American market: the first ES. The outgoing generation Lexus ES is not the loudest kid in class, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a party starter. The Dutch importer is highlighting the outgoing ES to celebrate its 35th anniversary in the Netherlands. The NX and UX are also joining the celebration.
Lexus ES 35th Edition
The Lexus ES 35th Edition temporarily takes over the role of the entry-level version of the Business Line trim. That had a starting price of €62,895. The starting price of the Lexus ES 35th Edition is a nice €59,995, almost €3,000 lower. Although you pay less, the Lexus ES 35th Edition is well-equipped. You get a reversing camera, extensive climate control, seat heating in the front, and the Premium navigation system with a 12.3-inch screen. Illuminated entry sills? Present. The same goes for an induction charger and alloy wheels in the size 18- instead of 17-inch. Even the more expensive Comfort Line has to do without wheels in that size and a phone charger.
The powertrain of the Lexus ES 35th Edition is, of course, the same as that of any other ES you can buy in the Netherlands. That means that the ES 35th Edition is also ‘a 300h’. What that means: a hybrid powertrain with a system power of 178 hp. That doesn’t give you spectacular sprint figures, although you do reach a speed of 100 km/h from standstill in 8.9 seconds in peace and quiet. What that pleasant nature also yields: an average consumption of 5.3l/100 km. Almost 1 in 19, not bad for a 1,655 kg heavy sedan of almost five meters, right?
Meanwhile, a new generation of the Lexus ES has already been presented. It will come to the Netherlands in the spring of 2026. Again, it will come to us as a hybrid, this time as a 201 hp strong 300h. For the first time, there will also be fully electric variants of the ES, and those will also come to us. The Lexus ES comes as an electric 350e with front-wheel drive and 224 hp and as a 500e with 343 hp and four-wheel drive. The ES 350e reaches a range of about 530 kilometers.
Lexus UX 35th Edition, complete with F Sport trim.
Lexus UX 35th Edition
The Lexus UX 35th Edition is of course also generously equipped. The equipment of this variant is very similar to that of the F Sport Design edition, which is no longer available with the introduction of the 35th Edition. Compared to the previously nameless and now Comfort Line named entry-level model, you get the F Sport Pack, which includes 18-inch alloy wheels, sporty-looking bumper work, and a faux leather-covered steering wheel. But there is more, much more. You get an automatically dimming interior mirror, Blind Spot Monitor, an induction charger, Driver Monitor Camera, an electrically operated tailgate, an extensive audio system with 10 speakers, an extensive multimedia system with navigation and a 12.3-inch display, parking sensors front and rear, privacy glass, seat heating in the front, a heated steering wheel, a digital instrument panel, and an extensive package of active and passive safety systems. The Lexus UX 35th Edition costs €49,995, making it 5,000 more expensive than the Comfort Line.
The special edition is available for the UX 300h with a 113 hp strong hybrid powertrain with front-wheel drive.
The NX also gets a festive edition.
Lexus NX 35th Edition
The big brother of the UX also gets a 35th Edition. We are of course talking about the NX. The Lexus NX 35th Edition costs €66,995, making it €1,000 more expensive than the Luxury Line. For that extra thousand, you get the standard equipment of the Luxury Line, supplemented with 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive Quad-led headlights with headlight washers, adaptive high beam, Panoramic View Monitor, and Lane Change Assist. The 35th Edition is available as a plug-in hybrid 450h+ with four-wheel drive.
