Another flashy week is coming. At least, if you drive too fast. In August it is time for the second ‘flash marathon’.
Last spring a so -called flash marathon already took place in Europe and now it is almost time for part two. In the week from 4 to 10 August it is hit. Then in extra places in our continent, the speed of traffic is checked. The ANWB warns that. Roadpol, a partnership of 29 police forces from different European countries, is behind this initiative.
You may think, why is such a thing announced at all? Well, we don’t get to hear the whole story either. In that week there is one day on which there is really much more checking for 24 hours, but which day is not yet clear. So it is not that you are just as easy for the bobbin all week if you drive too fast, although there is also more flashing on other days during the week than usual.
