Strikingly different
The Nissan Micra has started a completely new pure electric chapter and then cross-over brother Nissan Juke cannot be left behind. As usual, it takes just a little more extravagant.
Highlights Nissan Juke
The Nissan Juke has been a special appearance from the start. Certainly the first Juke was not to catch for one hole with his different lines, but the current second generation is also nice and quirky. Nissan will soon do not suddenly deviate from the third generation. On the contrary, the upcoming Juke will also be a remarkable appearance. Our illustrator has made something special of it based on a teaser photo and it seems that he can be close to the ‘real work’. Only the back is still somewhat guesswork.
Just like its predecessors, the new Juke has a fairly steeply rising window line and as with the current model, the daytime running lights is in a separate line above the actual headlights. This means that the biggest similarities are actually mentioned, because otherwise it all looks very new. The sharp folds and corners in the bodywork are inspired by the Nissan Hyper Punk Concept from 2023. It was considered a fairly extreme harbinger of the new Juke and our illustrator has based the rear lights.
Renault technology
Where the Nissan Micra is clearly based on the Renault 5 despite his own front and back, the Juke hides its origin a little better. As a big brother of the Micra, he is logically related to the bigger brother of the R5, the Renault 4. That already gives a nice indication of the dimensions and technology, although it may be that the Juke is also a bit further from his Renault cousin in that area than is the case with the Micra.
When we look at the Renault, we carefully count on a tight 4.2 meter long cross-over, with a 120 hp electric motor that gets its electricity from a 40-kw battery pack. A step higher is a 150 hp unit that hangs on a 52-kw battery. With the first battery pack it will charge with 80 kW and you should be able to get roughly 300 km far, the second is charged with 100 kW and yields a range of roughly 400 km.
Nismo?
It will be exciting whether Nissan goes one step further. With the Ariya the Nismo label has returned to Europe and possibly there is also a Nismo variant in the barrel for Juke. He could borrow the powertrain of the Alpine A290 and be able to get started with 220 hp power, but okay, then we might be a little too far ahead. First wait for the regular Nissan Juke. It comes in 2026.
