Dakargelb on your i7 or an X1 in Technoviolet? It’s all possible thanks to BMW Individual’s Manufaktur paint colors, which you can now simply check and view in the configurator for the first time. And order with a very substantial discount, too!

The spring tour through the backyard is now over, the children still have to go to school, and the weather was even more suitable for barbecuing earlier this week than now. So what are you going to do this weekend? Perhaps endlessly configuring BMWs, because that has just become a bit more fun. It is now possible to select and visualize a paint color from BMW Individual’s exclusive range, so crazy combinations are possible. We’ll make a start in the photo gallery above, but feel free to try and surpass us.

Ordering a paint color on request is not new, especially not with a premium brand like BMW. However, BMW seems to be ‘pushing’ this extra extensive color range a bit more now by showing it in the regular configurator, where you previously had to go to a special page to see the range. That range is very extensive, but varies somewhat per model. BMW enthusiasts can indulge themselves with illustrious BMW shades from the past, such as the aforementioned Dakargelb or Technoviolet, but all kinds of modern, fresh shades are also available. It doesn’t necessarily have to be immediately poison green or bright orange, because with an exclusive variation on a theme such as brown, dark blue, or dark green, it turns out that unique can also be subdued.

Such an Individual color can also be very subdued. But it doesn’t have to be.

Of course, there is a price tag attached to that beauty. The price of an Individual Manufaktur paint color at BMW depends on the size of the car, but normally amounts to at least €3,995. This applies to the smaller models from the (X)1 and 2 series. If you go to a 3 or 4 series, whether or not as an SUV, then there is €1,000 added. For the 5 series, X5 and X6, an exclusive paint color costs €6,095, and for the top models with a 7 or 8 in the name (or the XM), you will pay €7,095. The good news, however, is that the special colors have been significantly discounted: BMW is temporarily offering them with a discount of no less than 50 percent. If you then consider that a Metallic color from the regular range easily costs well over 1,000 or even more than 2,000 euros, you will see that the additional cost with the discount is actually not too bad.
