Please note: treacherous slipperiness on Thursday evening

Snow in the north and east

Slipperiness, slippery roads (ANP)

Rain can cause treacherous slipperiness on Thursday evening, especially inland and on local roads and in residential areas. This is reported by Weeronline.

Weeronline explains that the rain will start in Zeeland late in the afternoon and then spread across the entire country. “This will especially cause a lot of slipperiness on roads, cycle paths, and pavements where snow is still present. The layer of water falls on top of the snow and can make it extremely slippery.”

The rain falling on Thursday evening can make the snow on flat roofs extra heavy. “The snow will act like a sponge,” says Weeronline. In places where there is a lot of snow on the roof, the weather website advises removing the snow during the day.

It will also be slippery on Thursday morning.

As previously reported, the rain in the north and east will turn into snow late on Thursday evening. It will continue to snow on Friday. In total, according to Weeronline, 5 to 15 centimeters can fall, and locally even more. The north will experience the most snow. There will also be strong winds, causing snowdrifts. The wind will drive the snow, which can lead to poor visibility, among other things.

According to the weather website, it will freeze significantly next weekend.
