Filling Up Nicely
We all know that filling up along the highway is considerably more expensive nine times out of ten than elsewhere. Never before has the price difference between the pump along the highway and the ‘normal pump’ been as great as it is now.
MultiTankcard has taken the transaction data from January to May of this year. What turns out? The difference between what you pay for gasoline along the highway and what you spend at the ‘regular’ gas stations outside of it has never been as great as it is now. On average, you pay 18.7 cents per liter of gasoline (E10) more along the highway than outside of it. That price difference has steadily increased in recent years. In 2022, it was still 14.3 cents and in 2023, 15.2 cents. In 2024, the price difference was already 17.5 cents.
You didn’t fill up with the most expensive gasoline in the Randstad, but a bit further away. In Hollum on Ameland, to be exact. The average gasoline price there last period was – hold on – €2.2979 per liter. In Oostrum in Limburg, you filled up with the least expensive gasoline on average (€1.7665 per liter). At the gas station level, we find another winner. The cheapest gas station was Joontjes Kreditank in Steenwijk, Overijssel. There, you paid an average of €1.7428 for a liter of gasoline so far this year. You filled up with diesel most cheaply at TinQ in Hengelo (€1.5125 per liter).
