‘Rivian lays off hundreds more employees’

Hope for better times

Rivian R2

Things aren’t exactly going well for Rivian. After an earlier round of layoffs, the company is reportedly sending hundreds of employees out the door again.

In September, the Wall Street Journal reported that the American automaker Rivian was laying off about 200 people. About a month later, the same medium writes that another round of layoffs is coming. This one is even larger than the previous one.

Reportedly, Rivian will soon say goodbye to ‘more than 600’ employees. Rivian would be doing everything possible to reduce costs. The company is dealing with declining demand for electric cars in the United States and faces significant competition from brands like Tesla. Rivian is currently working hard to streamline various production processes in preparation for the production start of the renewed Rivian R2. In the long term, Rivian also wants to build a smaller car: the R3.
