Samsung Electronics has secured a contract worth over 14 billion euros to produce AI chips for Tesla.
This is a major victory for the underperforming chip manufacturing division of the South Korean electronics giant. Samsung announced on Monday that it has signed a chip production agreement worth 22.8 trillion won. It runs until the end of 2033. The newest chips will not be made in South Korea, but in the United States itself. The plan is to produce Tesla’s newest AI6 chip in a new factory in Taylor, Texas, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed on X.
