Skoda Epiq will soon have to bring the really large numbers – preview

Size smaller, bigger success?

The Skoda Elroq is an outright shot in the Dutch sales rose. This year the Czechs will come with an EV that is a size smaller and will cost only € 25,000. Time for a preview of the Skoda that Stellantis is already delivering sweaty nights.

Highlights Skoda Epiq

For a long time, the Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupé were the only electric models from Skoda. At the end of last year, the brand deeply used the scissors that SUV and the shorter and considerably cheaper result is now just as Elroq in the price list. That Skoda Elroq was the first, but certainly not the last of a series of new electric models. There will be an electric SUV with seven seats above the Enyaq, an electric station wagon as an alternative to the Octavia Combi and a compact electric cross-over. That compact high -legged will probably be called Epiq and will be coming this year. Time for a preview.

Potential sales

The EPIQ may be the electric sales clapper for Skoda. Currently, the still -fresh Elroq is selling like a madman sales technically. With its wagon length of just under 4.5 meters, that Elroq is a lot shorter than the Enyaq, but the Skoda Epiq still dives under it. It will be about 4.1 meters long. That is 40 centimeters shorter than that Elroq. Even the Skoda Kamiq-currently the smallest (non-electric) cross-over of the brand-is 14 centimeters longer. A relatively small price is also included with those compact outside sizes. The Skoda Elroq is available from € 34,990 and appears to be very successful. And the epiq? It must receive a starting price of around € 25,000. You can imagine what that will mean for popularity.

Although the Skoda Epiq becomes practically just as long as a Fabia, it promises to be a pretty practical model. Skoda is already talking about a luggage space of 450 liters. That is very serious. For comparison: the 5 centimeters longer Opel Mokka Electric – which is significantly more expensive with its starting price of € 33,999 – it makes it up to 310 liters. The Epiq is helped here by its base. Unlike the Mokka and his Stellantis cousins, the Skoda is on a pure electric platform. So there will be no variants with gasoline engines and that yields a technically optimal layout.

From back to front

Under the Skoda Epiq is the Meb Entry platform, hardware that yields the cross-over an electrical range of up to 400 kilometers. That basis differs at an important point from the Meb base that is covered with the larger electric models of the Volkswagen Group. Cars on Meb Entry-Basis are in principle front-wheel drivers and no rear-wheel drivers. The electric Skoda thus becomes a sister model of cars such as the Cupra Raval, the Volkswagen ID2/ID Polo and the cross-overversion thereof. That immediately explains why the Epiq will soon be on side with those models of the band in Pamplona, Spain.

No preview without a textual round around the car. The final epiq is very strongly looking for the conceptual harbinger that Skoda showed a few years and a half ago. At the facelifted Enyaq, Skoda already applied design elements of its new Modern Solid design language. The Epiq will be the first Skoda that is drawn from the outset and therefore completely according to that new house style. The T-shaped lighting on both the front and rear is part of that, as well as the mainly dense front containing a black beam that connects the headlights and in which possibly an arsenal sensors is housed. In addition to somewhat playful bumper work with, among other things, a colorful collection of vertical slots on the front, the epiq is mainly free of visual fuss or optical frills. A real Skoda.

Smaller size, Bigger Success?

Potential sales hit

The Epiq May Become Skoda’s Electric Sales Hit. Currently, The Still Brand-New Elroq is Selling Like Crazy. With a length of just under 4.5 meters, The Elroq is a lot shorter than the enyaq, but the skoda epiq goes even further below that. It is about 4.1 meters long. That is 40 centimeters Shorter than the Elroq. Even The Skoda Kamiq-Currently the Smallest (Non-Electric) Cross-over of the Brand-is 14 centimeters longer. It should have a starting price of around € 25,000. You can imagine what that will mean for its popularity.

Althegh the Skoda Epiq Will Be Practically As Long As A Fabia, IT Promises to Be A Fairly Practical Model. Skoda is Already Talking About A LugGage Space or 450 liters. That is very serious. For Comparonon: The 5 centimeter Longer Opel Mokka Electric – which is significant more Expective with A Starting Price of € 33.999 – Only Manages 310 Liters. The Epiq is Helped by Its Base. Unlike the Mokka and its Stellantis Cousins, The Skoda is on a Purely Electric Platform. So there are no variants with petrol engines and that gives it a technically optimal layout.

From Back to Front

Underneath The Skoda Epiq is the Meb Entry Platform, Hardware That Gives The Cross-Over An Electric Range of Up to About 400 kilometers. That Base Differs on an Important Point from the Meb Base That Sits Under The Larger Electric Models of the Volkswagen Group. Cars on Meb Entry Base Are basically Front-Wheel Drive and not Rear-Wheel Drive. The Electric Skoda Will Thus Be A Sister Model of Cars Such As The Cupra Raval, The Volkswagen ID2/ID Polo and the Cross-Over Version Thereof. That immediately explains why the epiq will son be running side by side with those models from the assembly line in Spanish Pamplona.

No preview without a textual tour around the car. The definitive epiq Will Strongly Resemble The Conceptual Harbinger That Skoda Showed a Little Less than a year and a half ago. Skoda Already Applied Design Elements of its new Modern Solid Design Language to the Facelifted Enyaq. The Epiq Will Be the First Skoda That Is Designed From The Outset And Therefore Completely Accordance to That New House Style. The T-Shaped Lighting at Both the Front and Rear is part of this, as is the Mostly closed front with a black bar connecting the headlights and possible housing an arsenal of sensors. In Addition to Somewhat Playful Bumper Work with, Among Other Things, A Colorful Collection of Vertical Slots at the Front, The Epiq is Mainly Free of Visual Frills Or Optical Trinkets. A Real Skoda, Therefore.
