Skoda’s success is often green: Skoda Elroq in the Netherlands

How does the Netherlands configure the Elroq?

Skoda Elroq

The Skoda Elroq is already an integral part of the Dutch streetscape. Have you also noticed that the Elroq is often green? That’s quite right!

The Skoda Elroq is very popular. The electric Skoda even managed to stay ahead of the equally immensely popular Kia EV3 last year and was named the most popular new car in the Netherlands. The Elroq has now been on the Dutch market for a year, and more than 12,000 units are now driving around in our country. To put that into perspective: in one year, more units of the Skoda Elroq have been registered than of the Kamiq, which has been delivered since 2019. How do Dutch consumers or lease drivers order their Skoda Elroq? We asked the Dutch importer.

Have you also noticed that you often see the Skoda Elroq in green? That’s more than just a feeling; the numbers support it. Almost a quarter of all Skoda Elroqs in the Netherlands are painted Timiano Green. After that green paint, Black Magic and Graphite Gray are the most popular – in that order.

The Skoda Elroq is available as 50, 60, 85, and RS (85X). Approximately half of all Elroqs in the Netherlands are an 85, meaning they have a 286 hp electric motor and a 77-kWh battery. The Skoda Elroq 60 with 204 hp and a 58 kWh battery accounts for over 40 percent of Dutch Elroq registrations. The entry-level Elroq 50 – with 170 hp and a 52-kWh battery – plays a smaller role with an 8.5 percent share of Dutch registrations. Not entirely surprising, the 340 hp sporty Elroq RS plays a marginal role with a share of approximately half a percent.

The optional Lodge interior adds some flair to the Skoda Elroq.

Then the trim levels. More than half of all Skoda Elroqs are Business Editions, the majority of which are either a 60 or 85. For the Elroq 60, the Business Edition is the mid-range trim, while for the Elroq 85, it is the entry-level. It already includes a relatively lot, but it misses something that is also absent on the more expensive trims: a towbar. Fortunately, it’s on the options list. A towbar costs €990 and is, according to Skoda in the Netherlands, the most chosen option. Elroq customers in the Netherlands are also keen on the Lodge interior. This offers, among other things, comfort seats upholstered with a combination of fabric and artificial leather, orange seatbelts, orange stitching, LED interior lighting, and chrome-colored accents. Of all the wheels on Skoda’s order list, the 19-inch Regulus light alloy wheels are the most popular.
