
The umpteenth recall
After persistent problems with distribution belts, camshaft settings and unsafe airbags, car manufacturer Stellantis in the Netherlands recalls massive cars back to the garage. The reason this time: fire hazard.
According to the parent company of brands such as Opel, Peugeot and Citroën, cars produced between January 2023 and May 2025 can show fuel leakage at the high -pressure pipe between the high -pressure pump and the rail. This is caused by loose nuts.
“This may lead to increased fuel consumption and, in exceptional cases, a fire in the motor compartment,” said an official statement. Stellantis calls the recall itself ‘voluntary and proactive’ because it says it has customer safety and satisfaction as a core value.
Intervention takes less than half an hour
The procedure concerns the re -tightening of the nut connections on the high -pressure line and the screws of the rail. No parts have to be replaced, the procedure takes less than half an hour and is free of charge for the customer. According to Stellantis, no cases of personal injury are known.

Not the first recall
It is not the first time that Stellantis has come up with extensive and radical recall actions. Earlier there was also compensation for problems with PureTech engines. In June of this year it was announced that 33,260 Dutch owners of a Citroën C3 or DS3 with a defective Takata-airbag were advised not to use their cars anymore.
