Just a Little More Solitaire

Subaru STI new

Subaru has caught the bug. It’s bringing not one, but two new STI models to the Japan Mobility Show. One of them even has a gasoline engine!

Subaru has unveiled a range of new or updated models in a short time. The Solterra has been refreshed both externally and technically, the Outback has been completely renewed (and won’t come to the Netherlands), and in the form of the Uncharted and Trailseeker, Subaru has introduced its own versions of the Toyota C-HR+ and bZ4X Touring respectively. That Trailseeker will come our way as the E-Outback. Subaru doesn’t deny its sporty nature. It’s going full throttle with both gasoline and electricity with two new sporty STI models.

Subaru Performance-E STI Concept

During the Japan Mobility Show, Subaru will present the Performance-E STI Concept and the Performance-B STI Concept. The first one is a preview of a sporty electric model that, according to Subaru, symbolizes the future of the Performance Scene. The brand speaks of a car with exciting proportions and excellent aerodynamics, although it must also be practical, spacious and comfortable. What exactly we should expect from this is not yet entirely clear.

Subaru Performance-B STI Concept

The second show car is called Performance-B STI Concept and is a precursor to a new sporty STI model with a combustion engine. It gets a boxer engine, Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. What we see of it somewhat resembles the current WRX and Levorg, but the window line of the show car differs from that. We’ll know more later this month!
