Suzuki Vision e-Sky: tiny EV with reasonable range

Suzuki Vision e-Sky

Suzuki unveils the Suzuki Vision e-Sky in its home country of Japan. It is a tiny EV, but with a reasonably usable driving range.

It’s time for the Japan Mobility Show again (formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show) and Suzuki is presenting this Vision e-Sky, among other things. There is a good chance that this compact EV will remain a purely Japanese affair, but we still wanted to show it to you. If only because the thing has a rather high cuddly factor.

The Suzuki Vision e-Sky is quite small: it is just under 3.4 meters long, 1.48 meters wide and 1.63 meters high. This makes it the size of, for example, the recently presented Honda N-One e:, which does have a brother intended for Europe. The Vision e-Sky shares something else with its intended Honda competitor: the driving range. Suzuki reports 270 km, which is exactly the same as the Honda. However, this does not seem to be an independently tested range, so in practice it will certainly be less.

Suzuki promises that the production version of the Vision e-Sky will be launched next year and is silent in all languages about global ambitions. Extensive details are not yet available either, the Japanese promise that the car will be suitable for ‘daily commuting, shopping and short holiday trips’ and that the design should give ‘people a positive and cheerful feeling’. Just so you know.
