The Honda NSX is back, but not in the way you expected

Honda NSX Tribute Italdesign

Behind the scenes, Honda is working hard on an electric NSX-like model. However, the Honda NSX is now back, but probably not as you expected.

Even years after the second-generation Honda NSX went out of production in 2022, it is still not entirely clear how and in what form the NSX bloodline will be extended. Given the hints Honda previously gave, it is obvious that the future of the NSX will also be electric. Yet, there is already a new NSX. Or rather: a new old one. Design house Italdesign has received Honda’s blessing to bring this Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign to the market.

Italdesign explicitly states that the Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign is not a restomod. In other words, it would not be a modernized, adapted version of the second-generation NSX. However, when we look at the interior, we cannot shake the impression that it is indeed a significantly rebuilt previous Honda NSX. The bodywork, in any case, has been thoroughly renewed. The NSX does not appear to share a single piece of sheet metal with the last NSX. There are plenty of interesting details. From the rear spoiler referencing the first-generation NSX to the roof-mounted air intake inspired by that of the Honda NSX-R GT.

The Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign will only be available with right-hand drive and will be offered in an extremely limited edition. Italdesign does not say how many will be built. Incidentally, another Italian design house – together with JAS Motorsport – also has an NSX restomod in the pipeline.
