There are few car models that offer such a wide spectrum of variants as the Ford Mustang. This is due to Ford itself, but also by a company like Shelby. With the Super Snake-R, this now presents the superlative of the superlative.
The new Shelby Super Snake-R has more than 850 hp and costs at least 225,000 dollars, converted around € 192,600. Looking through a Dutch glasses, that may not even seem that much for a fully renovated Ford Mustang with a fire-breathing V8, but let’s not forget that a Ford Mustang in ‘The Land of the (BPM) Free’ can be of you for less than € 30,000. You have a version with V8 there for less than 40 mille and the brutal ‘Dark Horse’, which costs € 150,000 in the Netherlands, you have about 55 mille there. In that light, almost two tons for a super snake-r based on that dark horse is rather bizarre, but you buy something special with it.

The Super Snake-R is the superlative of the already very brutal ‘normal’ Super Snake, which is not based on the Dark Horse, but on the regular GT. The R has even more power (‘850 HP+’, more than 838 European PKs) and is also much wider than any Mustang. Anyone who already has trouble leading the wide hips of a regular GT through narrow Dutch streets, may not have to start at all. The R also has a huge rear wing, a strongly raised bonnet full of cooling slots, a striking splitter, unique wheels and brakes and of course a fully adapted base. The engine is whipped up by a gigantic supercharger (a compressor) and can optionally be linked to Fords Tientraps Automatic or ‘Just’ the manual six -speed gearbox, which you must of course choose in this sample.
