There will be a more spacious variant of the BMW iX3 with a very major disadvantage

Stretched out in the back

BMW iX3

BMW comes with a solution for those who want the new electric iX3 but find it too cramped. A roomier variant of the BMW iX3 is coming, but it has a gigantic drawback.

Whoever finds the new BMW iX3 beautiful, technically interesting, or both, can look forward to a new variant. It promises to be even roomier than the original, and you already sit comfortably in the back of that. This extra spacious BMW iX3 is officially called the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase and has a 10.8-centimeter longer wheelbase. This means the wheelbase extends over a distance of 3 meters and 6 millimeters, even longer than that of the X5!

All extra centimeters benefit the passengers in the back seat. The BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase – or iX3 L – has a disadvantage as great as its wheelbase is long: it will not come to Europe and therefore not to the Netherlands. The BMW iX3 was developed by the BMW Brilliance joint venture. In China, for China and with China, as BMW itself states. This apparently does not mean that the iX3 is only sold in China. The longer variants will also be launched in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India.

Many models in China are slightly longer than the versions you can buy in Europe. This is also the case with BMW. The X3 is longer, as are the 3-series, 5-series, and X5. A longer version of one of the biggest competitors of the new BMW iX3 is also coming. AutoWeek recently showed you the first photos of the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology L. It has 3.03 meters between the front and rear axles.
