BMW M2 CS

BMW is showing the new M2 CS at the annual party at Villa d’Este on the Italian Lake Como. At that event yesterday, the curtain was already lifted on the BMW Concept Speedtop, a harbinger of a very exclusive series based on the M8. This CS is of course an extra hot version of the M2 that has now been on the market for more than two years.

The regular M2 has the 460 hp six-in-line twin-turbo, how much BMW M is adding on top of that for the CS will only be announced next week. The anticipation of the specifications can in any case already start with these images of the exterior. The enormous rear spoiler is striking. That is one in the style of the BMW M4 CSL, which distinguishes itself from the already spruced-up M4 version, the CS. Apparently the M2 CS skips a stage and may look like a small M4 CSL. An M2 naturally shares a lot of technology with the M4, only it all looks a bit more compact.

The CS gets a different wheel design, from which we can read that one of the wheels is in any case equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport rubber in the width size 275 and 19 inches in diameter. Whether that concerns the front wheel or the rear wheel…perhaps it is 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. We will find out more on Wednesday. Then of course it is the specs that we want to know and can share. What BMW already gives up is the average consumption of exactly 1 in 10. And that amounts to a CO2 emission of 226 g/km.
