Volkswagen Tiguan and Tayron: more for a little more

Revision

Volkswagen Tayron

The prices of the Volkswagen Tiguan and its bigger brother Volkswagen Tayron will soon be slightly higher than before. Fortunately, you also get something in return for the extra investment.

Volkswagen is adjusting the delivery range of the Tiguan and Tayron. Nothing changes about the available powertrains. However, there are some changes regarding trims and equipment. For example, the cheapest Tiguan used to be a nameless trim. That has changed. The entry-level Tiguan now has the Trend name. As before, the base version is only available in combination with a 131 hp 1.5 eTSI with automatic transmission. A Volkswagen Tiguan in that configuration costs €49,990, about a thousand euros more than before.

Above the Trend are the Life Edition and R-Line Edition. The bigger brother Volkswagen Tayron never had a nameless entry-level version and was always only available as Life Edition or R-Line Edition. These two trims offer more for both models. According to Volkswagen, popular options such as Travel Assist, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are now standard. Additionally, the R-Line Edition gets features including HD LED matrix headlights, a head-up display, and a larger infotainment screen.

Besides the already mentioned 131 hp mild-hybrid, the Volkswagen Tiguan is also available as a 150 hp mild-hybrid. This also has a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The 150 hp version is available as Life Edition starting from €57,490, which is about €500 more than before. Prefer a Volkswagen Tiguan as a 204 hp or 272 hp plug-in hybrid eHybrid? Then bring €52,490 or €59,490 respectively to the Volkswagen dealer. These versions are about 2 thousand euros more expensive than they were.

The Volkswagen Tayron is available with a 150 hp 1.5 eTSI starting from €59,990. The 204 hp and 272 hp plug-in hybrids are available starting from €54,990 and €61,990 respectively.
