Voyah Courage: from € 45,000 and packed as standard

Voyah Courage

The Voyah Courage is the latest addition from Dongfeng’s luxury brand to the Dutch market. The Courage is priced more affordably than the larger Free and comes fully loaded as standard.

Voyah is a small player in the Netherlands. The brand from Chinese Dongfeng has the Free and Dream on the menu here, a 4.9-meter long electric SUV with seven seats for which you pay over €60,000. The Voyah Courage is positioned below that, but at 4.73 meters long, it is by no means small. For comparison, a Skoda Enyaq is about 7 centimeters shorter. According to the Dutch importer, the Voyah Courage would be priced competitively. Whether and how competitively that actually is, is now becoming clear.

The Voyah Courage costs a minimum of €44,990 in the Netherlands. For that amount, you drive the Voyage Courage Business Edition. What you get: a 292 hp electric motor on the rear axle and an 80 kWh LFP battery that helps the SUV achieve a range of 476 kilometers. This variant zooms from standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, reaches a speed of more than 200 km/h, and can fast charge with 200 kW. For comparison: a Skoda Enyaq 85 Selection costs €1,000 more and offers 286 hp, a 77 kWh battery, and a range of 579 kilometers for that money. However, you have to settle for a charging capacity of 135 kW.

Higher on the menu is the Voyah Courage Performance Edition. It costs €49,990 and, like the Business Edition, has the 80 kWh battery. The Performance part of the name is reflected in the powertrain, among other things. This variant has two electric motors and thus four-wheel drive. The system power amounts to a generous 429 hp. With that, you reach 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Its range: 440 kilometers.

Equipment

In absolute terms, the Voyahs Courage are not a bargain. The equipment is well in order. You get standard 20-inch alloy wheels, a 15-inch infotainment screen and a 6-inch digital instrument panel, a head-up display with augmented reality, leather upholstery, an extensive package of passive and active safety systems, an illuminated grille, recessed handles in the (frameless) doors, an electrically opening and closing tailgate, Keyless Entry, a rain sensor, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors with memory function, a 360-degree camera, an induction charger, dual-zone climate control, a heat pump, a twelve-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, an eight-way adjustable passenger seat (with memory function), seat heating, a massage function, and so on.

The Performance Edition adds things like upholstery with an alcantara look, rear seat heating, steering wheel heating, and ‘brand tires’.
