Xpeng P7+

The Xpeng P7 is no longer available in the Netherlands. A completely new one is coming, although you’ll have to wait a bit for it. What is already here: the Xpeng P7+. This model is also brand new for the Dutch market and will be arriving very soon. AutoWeek can tell you everything about it, including its price. And it’s competitive.

Xpeng P7+ Highlights

The Xpeng P7, which launched in its home country China in 2019, was only introduced in the Netherlands at the beginning of 2023. This electric sedan is no longer available in our country and is on its last legs in China as the P7i. Its successor is already for sale there, and the new Xpeng P7 will also come our way eventually. The Xpeng P7+, which plays the main role in this article, is a different model. This car is entering the Dutch market for the first time. And soon too.

In China, the Xpeng P7+ has been positioned as a slightly longer, yet cheaper alternative to the new P7. This Xpeng P7+ has been available in its home country for about a year and was recently refreshed both optically and technically. The updated model can be recognized by its new bumpers, but above all by its thoroughly redesigned rear end. The arrival of the refreshed Xpeng P7+ coincided in China with the introduction of an electrically powered variant with a gasoline engine acting as a range-extender. That variant will not come to the Netherlands, but the conventional fully electric versions will.

Two Fully Loaded Versions

The P7+ is a five-door liftback with frameless doors. It is 5.06 meters long and has a wheelbase of exactly three meters. It will come to the Netherlands in two versions. For €48,990, Xpeng will hand you the keys to the Xpeng P7+ RWD Long Range in the Netherlands. This version has a 313 hp and 450 Nm strong electric motor on the rear axle and a 74.9 kWh LFP battery in its floor. This combination is good for a range of 530 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with a more than generous 446 kW. From a standstill, it reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.

Higher up the ladder is the Xpeng P7+ AWD Performance. This all-wheel-drive variant also has a 313 hp electric motor on the rear axle, but also features a 190 hp motor that powers the front wheels. The system output: 503 hp. This Performance version also has a 74.9 kWh battery and can fast charge at 446 kW. Of course, it’s much faster. This top version sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The top speed for both variants is set at 200 km/h. The starting price for this version is not yet known.

Both variants are very well equipped. From extensively adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats with massage function to heated, ventilated rear seats with massage function; it’s all included. As well as ambient lighting with 256 colors, 20 loudspeakers, Nappa leather-clad furniture, 20-inch wheels, and an 8-inch screen for rear passengers. There are no differences in equipment between the two variants.

Interior

Regarding computing power, the Xpeng P7+ also lacks nothing. The P7+ features – hold on tight – “patented Turing AI chip architecture with up to 750 tera operations per second (TOPS) of AI computing power.” That doesn’t tell us much, but it’s more than twice as much as the Xpeng P7+ before the facelift. More tech: the Xpeng has a large 15.6-inch multimedia screen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a large head-up display. The luggage compartment is 573 liters. If you fold down the rear seats, you can stow up to 1,931 liters.

In April in the Netherlands

The Xpeng P7+ is available for immediate order. The first units will arrive in the Netherlands as early as April. The Xpeng P7 (without the plus sign) is planned for the end of this year.
